A Studio Built On Attention
Fourteen years of houses, institutions and the sites that shaped them.
Bhaavya Architects is a Jaipur-based studio working across private houses and small institutional buildings — founded on the belief that good architecture is mostly the result of paying close attention, for a long time, to an ordinary site.
What we keep returning to.
Light
We draw the sun path before we draw the plan. Every room earns its light rather than borrowing it from a fixture.
Material
Stone, concrete and timber are left to age visibly. A material chosen for how it wears is chosen once.
Context
A house in Kasauli and a house in Alibaug should not resemble each other. The site writes the first draft of the brief.
Restraint
Most decisions in a project are decisions not to add something. We spend our effort there.
How a project moves.
Listening
Weeks spent on site and with the client before a single line is drawn — understanding how a family or institution actually lives.
Drawing
Iterative studies in plan and section, tested against light, climate and structure long before they are tested against style.
Making
Close, hands-on supervision through construction. Detailing is resolved on site as often as it is resolved at the desk.
“We want our buildings to feel inevitable — as if no other arrangement of light, wall and material could have made sense on that particular piece of land.”
Where the work happens.
